I know that this has been covered in the past but, I have had the unpleasurable experience of draining my 180 this weekend..... not once but twice.

I have always been an advocate of quarintine in the past but, I went against my own mindset....

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a beautiful Power Brown Tang. Before I purchased it, I was amazed at how healthy it looked and how fat he was. At the time I did not have my QT tank up and running... Being that this fish looked as good as it did, I took a gamble and released it into my display tank. Within a couple of days of it's release I noticed a couple of spots of Ich on the PB. I started soaking all food in garlic imediately and made sure to have Nori availible at all times for them.

Within a few days, not only was the Powder Brown covered in Ich but so were my Mimic Tang, Solar wrasse, Purple pseudochromis, Neon goby and Orange shoulder tang...... the only fish not showing signs of ich was my Majestic angel.

The only way to remove all of the fish was to drain my system completely and remove the fish by hand. Of course, some of the rocks had to be moved to access the fish. This caused some of my prized Acropora to be broken

So now, all of my fish are in QT with hypo salinty for the next 8 weeks..... I know I will never put anything in any of my tanks again without QT first.

A big THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! goes to Linda and Tom for coming up to help me with this ordeal. I couldn't have done it without your help!
