Hello to everyone. I am newly interested in this fascinating hobby; don't have any tank at all yet. I am considering starting a tank for the sole purpose of enjoying dwarf seahorses. To that end, I am trying to read everything I can and gather as much information as possible to make a decision whether this is right for me or not. I am particularly interested in speaking at length with coral_diver; this person seems to have a lot of experience in this area.... Thanks in advance for the anticipated info.

I'm not coral_diver, but I can tell you seahorses need water, food, and a tank :D

Veronica I am sorry I have been away for a while. I'll be happy to help you with anything you need for info on starting you stable :) I'm trying to catch up on posts so I'm going to swing threw and see if anyone has helped you in later posts and I'll be back if not or use the newest post. To let you know just in short dwarfs are very time consuming and need newly hatched brine shrimp every day for nutrition or they will starve, you can supplement some a couple times a week with some specific supplements but let that settle for a few first and let me check those posts :)

Ok Veronica I don't see that anyone has given you much info so let me make sure I have this correct, you are not experienced in the keeping of seahorses of any kind correct?
If I have it correct and you are not I do not suggest anyone start with dwarfs because of their delicate nature and the time it takes to keep newly hatched brine going in alternating batches, plus decapping of brine, and the small tank size really makes water quality hard to maintain sometimes for a beginner, there is a large amount of food you have to feed several times a day. I know they are really cute being so small but have you seen them in person? They are really little! If you want to be able to enjoy them from a distance say across the room it's pretty much not fesable unless you have vision that is magnified. Give me some info on what you are looking to gain in the keeping of seahorses, what your saltwater experience is, and what you expect...
By the way I don't usually post my email address but I will here in case someone really needs me, especially if it happens to be urgent shoot me a personal email because I tend to disappear a little. It is desiree_leilani@hotmail.com if you need to get ahold of me quick that's the place to do it :)
