Greeting,
I currently have a Koran Angelfish in a 15 gal quarantine tank. I am treating for Ich, using API's 'Super Ick Cure', of which the active ingredient is Malachite Green. It is now 2 days later, and his fins seem to be frayed, and one slightly torn. Also his eyes have become cloudy, and he now seems to be ignoring food.

Salinity @ 1.023
Temp raised to 84F

I am changing half the water every other day, and keep it well circulated. Light is kept on maybe 2-3 hours a day.

Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Todd

Can you post an update of the fish from the last two days?

Any improvement? How are his eyes?

-------------------------------------------------------
My preferred method for treating Ich is Hypo-salinity (S.G. 1.009)

My hospital tanks are bare bottom (no substrate) with hiding spots for the fish. (pvc pipe/couplings, plastic tank decorations/caves.

Biological filtration (sponge filters/HOB)

Because of the increased demand for oxygen additional aeration is needed. I use air stones (powerhead pointed toward the surface work well also).

Make sure you test the water water parameters daily because pH, ammonia and nitrite levels can change and can cause stress on the fish.

Frequent water changes.

Soaking foods in vitamins and garlic help with the fishes immune system.

Keep and eye out for secondary infections. You might need to use antibiotics but don't use them unless you see something you feel the fish needs them for. It can lead to more stress on the fish is you just add them 'just in case'.

Well he seems to be doing worse. His eyes got a little cloudier, and he just kind of lingers near the bottom hiding. He still won't eat either...
