Fish Flakes:
Fish flakes are a way to reward members for their activity on our forums. Currently there is only one way to spend them. In our arcade. I am waiting on software to be released that will enable several ways for them to be spent. Mainly they will be used for forum enhancements such as colored usernames, glowing usernames, access to certain forums, access to contest forums, and some other options.

Ways to earn fish flakes:
Registration = 10
Positive Reputation = 5
Create Poll = 5
Reply to own post = 2
Poll Vote = 3
Reply to post = 1
Activity = 5
New Thread = 5
Birthday = 5
Rate Thread = 1
Members can also award other members flakes in their profiles.

Ways to loose fish flakes:
Negative Reputation = -15
Deleted Thread = -20
Deleted Post = -5

I will update this thread with more information once the software gets installed.

for whatever reason a post or thread needs to be deleted ... not that it will happen but there are deductions in case it does

The system will be reset soon, those flakes will be zeroed out. They were "experiment" flakes while Ed was working on the system.

How does someone who joined 7-23 get 8000+ flakes already? interesting...maybe the same way Gottcha jumped up to 7000, I donated him mine so when they get turned back to zero he'll feel bad for loosing so many....ROFL.

As you may have seen ... the fish flakes are all reset to zero. All Flake earned now will count toward future prizes and forum access.

ok everyone is back to 1 now .... if their not ... please let me know ... and posting should now increase your flakes

also on a side note ... you will NOT get credit for posting in a thread that YOU created but you will get credit for creating threads.

Hope that makes sense.

Admins will get a 50 flake "paycheck" and mods will get a 25 flake "paycheck" ... these will be given out to thos members who .... lets say "earn" them. Helping out other members is one way these flakes will be given out.

Premium members will also get a "paycheck" although not as much as the staff but since you contributed to the site ... its only fair to contribute to you.

Please go into your usercp and make sure you can see the test drawing that i put up ... there will be a link on the left to donations and drawings. If you dont see the drawing ... please let me know

Theres not a whole lot that can be done with them right now but we are working on some donations that will cost flakes to purchase raffle tickets to win.

ive been messing around with the program and they will be reset once again but they are based on participation on the forums. If you dont sign in, you will loose points for non participation. No sense in using them for contests if those who are active dont have an edge over those who arent.

I haven't been able to sign on much lately. For some reason coralforum was being blocked at my work (we had changed internet filters) And with 5 kids at home I don't get a lot of time on the computer. It's unblocked at work now, so I finally get a chance to get back on and check the forum's again. Was going through withdraws for a while there.

My getting to the forum issue had to do with the firewall/proxy filter at my work, nothing to do with the site. I could not get to www.coralforum.com at all.
I'm not sure but I think Gottcha gave me some fish food :-)
