Keep a turkey baster on hand! Works great for blowing off rocks, target feeding corals, etc.

LOL
I've got one.... Buy the right equipment from the get go. Upgrading later only makes you spend more in the long run.
Another... :D When in doubt ask and read and when you feel that you understand, read and ask again. The only bad question is the one you don't ask.

The biggest thing I've learned over the years is:
Set the tank up the way you want it to run, get yourself into a routine then stick with it. Remember our corals can adapt to quite a bit, and if you let the system stabilize, and let the coral adapt the coral will be much better off then if you keep changing their environment around. This goes for coral placement, flow setup, and lighting as well, if it's not broke don't fix it :)
Unless something is really going wrong of course,

Fish don't like to swim in your toilet so don't pee in their fish tank.
Oh, and uh, if it's not broke, then don't fix it. (kind of takes some of the fun out of it though.)

I have to disagree with #10 ice....logging on daily is addictive and my tank suffers because I'm here and not doing what needs to be done...lol j/k
