If your talking about the chat room here I have attempted to use it a number of times but couldnt ambush anyone there other wise I would spend a conserable time there.

lol, makes communication worldwide, one of the most commonly used IRC chat client's is mIRC.
If you get on IRC I only have 1x rule, 1x general guideline and 1x request, from you to protect yourself.

They are not ment to scare you the world of IRC is great open's up millions of doors to other people... I spend alot of time in "hacker/cracker" type of channel's when I log in from home...

Rule
If you have AOL as your service provider dont log into IRC. - Reason - AOL is targeted by several groups of hackers, crackers, and virii creators for multiple reasons, anyone seen with that browser is a way of them showing they support aol... making them your enemy... Also multiple IRC server's have an AutoBan on AOL IP's...

General Guideline
You are not yet an Adult act like one, or stay out of IRC. - Reason - Not being of age you dont completely have the ability to talk to people without getting overly cocky, arrogant, and/or rude. Makes you look bad, then makes you a target for the people in the previous rule if you make enough people angry...

You don't understand computers, operating systems, and general computer talk. - Reason - I will assume 95% of you are running a Window's / Microsoft based operating system. Hackers, Crackers, Virii creators love to hit windows boxes. You might be looking for a download get it, and with it came a little surprise of a virus, I recommend you know about the machine and general operating system so you can remove it, anti-virus doesnt get everything... Just be careful...

I tried IRC several years ago, didn't find it to be like a regular chatroom and never got "into it".
