Folks... I know nothing about coral, (in the process of educating myself).. anyway... While walking the beach... looking at shells, etc... I noticed small pieces of coral... they are unique to say the least... Is there a value to these pieces?... most all are broken.... some full fingers.... couple inches + in length... just curious ... Thanks in advance!

are they alive, also I do not know the laws etc., of taking stuff like that from the florida beaches, so check your laws before you start pulling corals up and selling them ;)
It really depends on the type of coral, also how big it is. If you post some pictures someone here could tell you. But if the coral is dead, or if you have kept it out of water for more than a few minutes, it's not worth anything... maybe to a decorator... LOL
I think he is talking about the dead exo skeletons

Thanks... I would never pull or take coral that is living or kill in order to take.... and yes it's probably the dead exo skeletons.... I'll get my camera and take a picture... Thanks again.. :)
I gotcha max, better safe then sorry

Oh, I didn't think that you would kill it in order to take it, I was unsure about how much you knew about keeping corals etc., and yes sorry if you thought that I was harping on you or anything, it wasn't intended that way at all.
Looking forward to see the pictures. But I have seen dead corals for sale in fish stores and as house decorations.

not a whole lot, maybe $3-5 a pound at the fish stores. I havent seen it used as a decoration for a while, we once had a piece in my house when I was a child. Try contacting a LFS or try to sell it on ebay to get a good estimate of how much its worth.
25 Pounder right here

If there ever was a scammer on e-bay.... That's a piece of dead rock not even a dead fire coral. That's bogus.
