I was looking on ebay for a RO/DI unit and this one kinda got my attention. But I would like advice from you guys first before I make my decision.

Sure seems like a good deal, but it almost falls in the "too good to be true" category. I can't see anything wrong with the listing though, so it's probably worth a shot.

tockeyj, are you still in japan? If so, they only list US shipping.

Good point, the listing says UPS, which doesn't ship to APO addresses. So i'll have to send him a message and see if he can ship USPS for APO addresses. I just moved to Japan in Sep 05. I've got quite some time left here.

Hey bigfoot, what is your TDS reading?

APO is the same as stateside. Where is your APo located ? I spent 9 years overseas and when In Thailand my APo was in San Fran In Germany it was NY. So it should not be a problem.

I'm at Misawa Air Base, which is in northern Japan(The land of SNOW). All items go to san fran first, then they are sent by the military to there final destination. UPS and FedEx will not ship to APO addresses, but USPS will. It has to do with something about tracking numbers and not being able to track the package after the military picks it up. I just came from Italy and everything was sent to New York first then to Europe.

A couple of things to think about when considering the design/configuration of RO/DI units for our hobby:

Size of the DI cartridge: bigger is better (nneds to be changed less often)
Horizontal DI is considered a design flaw by many (with good reason)
Why would you run DI water through a post-DI GAC filter?

I bought one off of Ebay and have been making 100g a week for my water changes and have noticed a drastic difference.

I did research on the seller first to make sure that they did not have any negative feedback, then looked up the name online.

All in all it was well worth the $130. It is a 6 stage RO/DI that makes 100g/d
