My battle with cyano seems to be over. It had been taking over everything in my tank, i would syphon it out or scrape it off, only to return in full force a few days later. I believe it started when I did a couple of water changes using ro water from the local yokal pet shop. Since i started using distilled, it had slowed down and now hopefully ceased. keeping my fingers crossed that it will stay away. now....to see if the hair algae will do the same.
