Will chemi-clean cause your protein skimmer to go hey-wire?? After i treated my tank...only used it because i had a large coral die and set off a red hair outbreak...i started my skimmer back up. Its skimming a high rate of wet skimate and is filling the colection cup w/in 5 minutes. Will this go away after a few more water changes or is it not even related to the chemi-clean...
My thinking is that its created a little more surface tension in the bubbles, in the skimmer, causing them not to break down on each other like they should be...just a thought?

As far as I can tell by searching the web, it seems that the skimmer will go crazy for just a while, and then subside. Just be sure to keep up with it, and dump the skimmate.

Yes it will do that... Can't you adjust your collection cup so you are not getting so wet a skimmate and then when it settles down you can re adjust it???

Yea i mean you can adjust how much flow the skimmer will let out which in turn makes the level in it go up and down...and beleive me its all the way open...still fills in about ten mins.
Just glad to hear its semi-normal
