I went to a 2-week school and the entire front glass of my 55 is almost covered with coralline.
I have scraped off most of the top half of the glass... wore out 3 blades in my scraper.
Anybody know an easier way without killing off the tank. :thinkhard:

i think scrapping it off the glass is the only way to clean it. some people use old creditcards to scrape coralline algae off.

I've been a scraping fool... not sure what caused the spike in coralline algea but it is thick.
Guess back to scraping, but I can only do a little bit at a time as the entire tanks clouds up with in a few minutes of me starting to scrape the glass.

I'm having the same problem in my 30 cube right now. The coraline is growing like mad! I haven't scraped the sides in about three weeks and they're are almost completely covered.

well mine started after I had a whole house filter system and watersoftner installed. I think maybe it might have something to do with it, but not sure as I still run the water through my 6 stage ro-di unit before it goes into any aquarium.
I was thinking it could be something that is being added by the salt in the water softner. Anybody have any info on this?
