I bought a green LTA last week, and it went under a rock and has been there ever since. Do they normally go into hiding after introducing them into a new environment? It came out from under the rock now tonight. It is still attached under the rock, just stretched out above it. Just curious if this is normal behavior for them.

Let me say congrats on obtaining a great animal....also this is normal.... Some times if you have a clown they acclimate quicker and settle a little quicker...It will find a place it likes with the light and current it likes and settle in.... Hopefully someplace you can enjoy it and not at the back of the tank or under the rock work...
This is where mine finally settled in....

Mine attached under the rockwork as well. It seemed perfectly happy with it's location, but would quickly retreat back under the rock if something startled it.

I just got a Green BTA. I placed it on top of a rock, about 6 inches from anything it could hide under. Apparently that wasn't far enough, because now it's completely under the rock. I don't have a clown right now, but I wonder if getting one would make the BTA come out or if the clown would just hide with it. Let me know if anyone has any ideas.
Thanks

clown only stay on anemone if they are scared or it's time to sleep. other than that....my clown will swim all over the tank, looking for food. if the clown choose to host an anemone then it will go wherever that anemone go.

The anemone will go where it needs to, regardless of whether a clownfish is hosting in it.

I would have to agree with conni.
the Anemone will depend on it's self for survival it will go where it wants to suit it's needs. and as for the clownfish it depends on it's surroundings. and tank mates. and the clownfish. my old pair of percs would travel away from it's host all the time , but like my wild Blk pair don't stay away from its host very long or travel very far away from it . and pretty much live in there host day in and day out.
