Is it normal for clowns to treat brains like Anemones? We have had our clowns for about 18 months now and they have never paid any attention to the long tentacled Anemone (gone a while back) nor the RBTA (which is kind of small) but they will not leave this new green brain alone. they rub against it and they do this funny little dance around it.

Just not sure what to think?

Yep....clowns can be unpredictable and they will take to different kinds of corals...some shrooms, flowerpots, even open brains...I think they think it is a carpet anemone!!!!

thanks for responding to my other post...was not sure where to post this.

I think they are very entertaining all of a sudden. they are dancing right now and shaking all around. they have been a pair now for quite a while and this is the first time they seem to be excited about anything.

well then they are VERY interested, but I have not the first clue on what happens when they finally do the unmentionable.........

I think we have to many crabs in the tank for anything to happen, plus a dragon goby and a magenta dotty-back.

Oh well it is interesting to watch them, maybe we will have to do some research into what to do...........

Might have to set up another tank for just them when the time comes

You mean like a honeymoon suite? Seriously though clowns are nuts, they'll host anything that suits them, Conni had one hosting a powerhead I have one hosting a whisper filter

Here is a picture of my pair guarding their spawn.... The smaller one of the two is the male and he is facing the eggs....
The eggs don't make it as I have to many things in the tank that finally take them...

Very cool 8) I have a pair of maroons that I suspect this going on. I only ever see one at a time and the male usually stays behind a rock ledge at the base of one of my leathers.

Because it is in the back of the tank I can only see the reflection. It is like they ar taking turns coming out.
