Hi i just got a pjyama wrasse a few days ago and he hasnt had anyting to eat i also have a pjyama cardinal and that is eating fine . the pyjama wrasse is very lively and darts around the rocks and he dosnt look hungry he also picks and the picks i think thats him feeding abit on the rocks but apart from that he is happy so why wont he eat and could he stave to death just because he dosnt want to take some food?

Thanks Mickey

Also known as the "6 Line Wrasse"

I would not worry..he will eat when he is good and ready. Most do not feed their fish for at least 24 hours after acclimation. It takes quite a while for a fish to starve to death..so no worries.

Try again in the morning..by the way, what are you attempting to feed him?

im just feeding him to start off with some very small slow sinking pellets that my cardinal loves.

If he is not eating them, then make sure your remove them from the bottom the the tank...unless your other fish are eating them.

If you see him picking at the rocks like you said, he is eating small crustaceans on them. :)

They are very hardy fish, so I'm sure he will eat..give him some time.

You might try calling the LFS and find out what they were feeding him. Usually, new fish take to frozen preparations sooner than dried too.

I agree with Conni. Try some Frozen mysis or Formula One. Thaw a bit in tank or RO/DI water before placing it in the tank.
