AQUA CLEAR DIY FUGE?

I was hoping someone out there could give me some help. I saw the post for a DIY AC70 mini fuge and really like the idea. I got a 20g and recently lost my fuge and thought this would be a great option. I intend to use a AC110( due to its larger size.
I was wondering how to slow the flow rate down since this thing is rated for 60+g tanks. Would a AC 70 or lower impeller work to slow the flow down? Im just wondering this do to its larger size compared to the smaller Aqua Clears. I really dont want to get into baffels since I want the max. space I can get.. Any suggestions would be great.

From what I understand the impeller for the 110 can't be swapped out. the impeller housing is larger than that of the 70, 50 and 20. You can slow the flow rate by adding a couple of baffles in the same configurtation as is found in sumps.

The surface skimmer that you can buy for the aquaclear filters cuts down on the flow also.....you can find them on ebay for around $10
