I am using melafix in my tank, my new small FoxFace Lo, has what looks like "Fin-Rot".

The directions say dose for one week...while doing everyday this week, should I turn off my skimmer?

Also my wrasse has not taken a liking to the first dose of medicine for my Rabbitfish. He is hiding and was breathing rapidly. Though I just checked on him just now and is breathing slower :-D

Should I continue medicating?

You might want to remove the fish and treat it separately in a QT tank. Do you QT new additions? Melafix is a good product. I'd turn off the skimmer and remove any carbon as well. Good luck!

Yes, he was in QT.

I don't have a big enough QT for the other fish, so I was just wondering if the med will harm the uninfected fishes.

Yes, definitely turn off the skimmer. Otherwise it'll go nuts.

Thanks, he is looking better and everyone is getting along now.

Also, I have tried feeding my Rabbitfish, but my trigger and wrasse get to the seaweed first. Should I put a tank divider in there to let him eat by himself?

No i wouldnt use a devider, when you git ready to feed, spot feed him instead of letting the food floeat around, but the only thing i would be worried about spot feed is the triggers teeth and the rabbit fish' venomous spines
