Has anyone used this filter, or have any information on the brand. This is the only web site I could find on it.

I'm about to go look at a used one here in town, and I was interested in your input. She said that the one she has should be good for up to a 100G tank, and I'm thinking about getting a 75, so this should be good correct?
Thanks

What are your plans for this tank? FO, FOWLR, reef?

it's a reef. Yeah, that was another question. Am I supposed to take the bio balls out of there, and if so, should i replace them with something?

If you have 1 to 1.5 pounds of rock per gallon of tank, you don't need to replace the bioballs. Some people choose to put live rock rubble in place of bioballs, though. This will cut down on noise.

Thanks for the tip on the rubble. I'll keep that in mind.
So I guess I'm confused. What's the point of the wet dry filter without the bio balls? It seems to me that without them, there's basically just two thin filter elements that it will go through.

They are good for mechanical filtration, aeration, extra circulation. In some filters, there is a skimmer and room for the heater too.

Yeah, unfortuenatly, on this sump. I don't have room for the skimmer to be put in it, but I am currently looking for a good deal on ebay or somewhere to get a skimmer that will hang on the sump. I don't want it to hang on the tank. Let me know if you hear of anything.
BTW, how is that Odyssea light holding up for you, and how long have you had it? I'm looking at getting the 48" when they get back in stock, and i'm jsut worried since there's basically no warranty after 30 days. Well, there is warranty, but it's through china so i'm sure that you can't get a hold of them.
Thanks

I've only had mine since July or so. It works like a champ for me. I can'tbelieve how much my coral growth has compounded since changing to those lights.

awesome. that's the one I'll look for then when they get back in stock. do you think there's a big difference between that one, and the 492?

I'm torn about the 492. See, you can get replacement 150W hqi bulbs from many makers. You can't get hqi's in 175 from anyone but Odyssea. So, depending on your tank size, you might be better off going with the lesser wattage.
