I found this skimmer, and pump, and I was wondering if anyone has heard of it, and if it is a good deal? Also, please let me know how quiet it is, as I will have it in my beed room.

Thanks

They are horrible. Do not even think of buying them. HORRIBLE PRODUCTS. I bought a jebo skimmer and it broke the next day. No REFUND!

Don't waste your money on that.

Spend the extra cash and get an AquaC skimmer. They cost more but you won't be replacing it until you get a larger tank. You will not be disapointed.

I bought one of these protein skimmers off of ebay- before I saw this message though.

It arrived today I have have now hooked it up and am wondering if it is working correctly. I am pretty new to this hobby - and have never seen a protein skimmer in action before.

First issue - I notice ALOT of bubbles going back into the tank. Is this okay? It seems like it would bother my fish. I also notice that while the majority of the bubbles come from the aerated water dropping back into the tank - there are also some bubbles coming out of the powerhead - I am wondering if there is a leak in it and if I should try to fix it.

Second issue - I don't see any "scum" collection yet. How exactly is this scum generated? Are the air bubbles just supposed to go into the air and condensate into the collection cup, and then become scum? Or are the bubbles supposed to pile up and overflow into the collection cup? I had though it was supposed to be the second option but have not seen the bubbles piling up and accumulating.

Let me know please - I hope this is working right and not bothering my fish, etc.

I have to agree go with an aqua C....you won't regret paying a little more for a great little skimmer....
Here is mine in action!!!

Craig101...
Those are really terrible skimmers....Bubbles shouldn't be coming out your power head they should be going into the skimmer....with most skimmers you will get some bubbles back into the tank when they are just set up...that generally calms down.... Your second thought on how the collection cup works is correct...you should be able to adjust flow to make it start collecting the scum!!!

i first bought an internal skimmer for my 30 gal and wanted to reduce it's appearence so i replaced it with a HOB Jebo skimmer simular to the photo i included with this message. BIG MISTAKE, bubbles everywhere in my tank, water backing up and filling the cup....PIECE OF CRAP!!

it makes SO MUCH NOISE TOO !! incredible! !!
i stongly encourge you to either save-up and buy a better model instead of getting it. they seem to have a bad reputation when it comes to skimmers.
Just to prove my point - i had to modify mine to plug a air-stone (pump air) into the chamber upwards to the collection cup to stop the noise AND bubbles from going into the tank in mass quantities.....

which my fish don't like at all!!!

i think they prefered the skimmer in the tank rather than get showered with all those bubbles...i'll try to post a pic to show you.

After 2 weeks of use, my jebo protein skimmer is working a bit better. I am starting to get skimmate and the micro bubbles have died down quite a bit. I also had attached a sponge to the waterfall outfall which help keep the bubbles down. Not sure how it would work now without the sponge but I may be able to take it out.

At least it working....
