I ran across this on eBay, and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the light.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Jebo-36-inch-280-W-Metal-Halide-light-aquarium_W0QQitemZ7718679046QQcategoryZ46314QQssPa geNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
It's the Jebo 36" with 1x150 MH and 2x65 CP
I'm really concerned that the fans are going to be loud on the light, or the light just wont work well. Let me know if this link doesn't work and i'll post a different one.
Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't get it from them because they are an autoparts dealer/seller.
Also, his information isn't accurate.
The lamps do not take 4-6 hours to warm up. It will take them a matter of a couple of min. tops.
It WILL take them around 100 hours before they reach peak potancy. This is due to the fact that the bulb needs to break in the metals within the light.
I would buy a light on eBay from someone who knows what they are talking about.
JMHO.

Thank you for your word of warning, but i was more interested in the light itself and how it holds up. Do you know how well the light works (JEBO Lights), or how loud the fans are?
Thanks

It says it's an Jebo, but in the description it says Oddysea. Oddysea's are decent fixtures.

Try this link: http://www.aquatraders.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=24 . It's cheaper, and the company is pretty good with customer service. Sometimes they can be slow to ship, but their low prices make up for it, IMO. I have an Odyssea light, which I like, but I can't attest to its longevity since I haven't had it all that long.

Thank you so much for the web site. I'm sure that I will go with them. Can you tell me how loud this brand of light is? As I mentioned, I will keep the tank in my room, and it will be about 6 ft from my bed. Is the light quiet enough for this. I have run across a couple of lights that even in the fish store with all of the other noise in there, I could hear the lights from about two feet away.
Thanks

I also meant to ask if you had any websites similar to this one for everything else? I am just starting out, so I need all components including, but not limited to. Wet/Dry Sump, Protein Skimmer, RO unit, etc...
Thanks again

Well if you want a good light with a very quiet fan I sell PFO lighting systems. They range from "intro level" to the Professional series.
I ran the 48" ShimmerLight about 3' away from my bed and all I could hear was my pump. Even if you stand with your ear 2" away from the fan it is totally silent basicly.
However, for PFO's quality, expect to spend a little more. I do offer the same prices as any other vendor on PFO. I will also match and then beat any price that is lower than my listed prices.
There is a store wide sale going on until 12 midnight Halloween. Go to my vendor post at the bottom of the forums for more info.

your light probably won't be on when you are in your bed anyway?!?! just a thought..

Sorry, I keep forgetting to answer your volume question. I just went and turned off all of my pumps, and the fans make a bit of noise, but not much at all. I had to really listen for them. My skimmer, on the other hand, is horribly loud, but screaming kids, yowling cats, barking dogs, and blaring music keep my mind off of it!

Thanks to both of you. Ya know. I didn't even think about the fact that I wont have the metal halide on at night anyway.
Conni, Do the fans on this unit stay on while using just the moon lights, or are they only on when using the metal halide?

I ran my fan 24/7.
As far as the "do they stay on"...
It all depends on what you buy. PFO systems all have seperate plugs for everything basicly. That way you can timer anything you want or just plug it in for constant operation or manual operation.

I sure wish the Odyssea lights were like that, Scott. That's my biggest beef with them.
Segen, the fans only run with the metal halides. The moonlights are silent.
