How do you people ship corals? I am sending someone a frag of some of my brand new zoos, and a green ricordea. I am sending them in a thermos, with 2 baggies, 1 frag in each. Sound good? Also, how do I get a shipping quote? Do I have to go to the post office, or can I get a quote online?

you can go right online if you know your shipping weight or if you go with a flat rate Priority box. depending on how far your shipping Zoa's and ricordea's have always faired well for me priority shipping.
as for shipping you'll want to make sure each coral you ship is hosted in it's own water. frags should never be mixed. like you posted 1 in each bag. you just want to make sure the bags won't touch each other for the sack of the 2 frags bangging together and putting a hole in one or both bags.

The frags are only going to be a couple polyps of zoos, and 1 ricordea. Only the zoos will be mounted. Do you still think they will bump each other?

I guess I wouldn't want to take a chance? if anything if you have room in the thermos, put a piece of bubble wrap between them.

Ok, I just have a little box that the thermos just fits in wrapped in bubble wrap. I got it from a fellow CF'er. You know who you are! Natemorriss. I posted some pics of the beautiful zoos you sent me on www.seahorse.org, and a lady PMed me asking me to send her a frag lol. She also wants a few florida ricordea frags.

as you get more advanced in the selling process, you will want to use Oxygen to fill the bags up, rather than just air. This will allow the disolved o2 content to raise, releasing strees on most species, and also helping fight disease. And on top of that, will keep the plenty of o2... but thats far down the line for you, and besides I dont think you can legally buy an o2 tank at your age... and you probably wouldnt want one because of the costs and dangers associated with it...
