The sohal will kill the other tangs...they are beautiful fish but are supper aggressive...they have a tendency to do great for a while and will then put out those very long scalpels and rip through the crowds...in the wild they school with other sohal's and rip through other fish who they pose a threat to their food source...they have earned the right to be called the terrors of the sea!!!!! They are without rival for the most aggressive tang!

There are some triggers, lions, some eels and large angels that may work with the Sohal but always keep a close eye on the condition of these fish…If you do decide to keep one then keep him feed well…Hang some sea weed daily! That is one way that my Sohal stays a little mellower…

I will caution that they will be good for a while but as they get use to the others and they grow...and they will grow!!! They will get very aggressive and not remain subordinate...I have had mine almost kill my sail fin tang and has given other fish in my tank a slash or two...But understand I have 300 gal... an 8ft tank...and he still is very aggressive....I love the way he looks but not always the way he acts...if he bothers my watanabe's he is out of there..... Remember they are not recommended for any tank under 180 gal...they get 16-18 inches long!!!!

I can get by with keeping things in my tank that people with smaller tanks can’t…So please don’t think because I am keeping a Sohal that it has been all wonderful…because there are days I would like to have some fresh fried fish!!!!!! With him on the top of the menu!!!!
