i am setting up a 29g tank and would like to make a couple corner shelves inside the tank to put live rock on...so i wouldn't have to buy so much rock to (eventually) put softies closer to the light.... plus being in the corners, they would be close to the flow. so has anyone tried this or have any ideas? it must be strong enough to hold a few pounds of liverock but not look too stupid. i've been trying to research on the net but couldn't find anything....

thanks!!

Look through icereefer's 40G prop tank posts. He made something a bit larger than you're talking about, but it should give you some good ideas to start with.

i thought about using that but i was thinking maybe it wasn't strong enough to hold up 10+ lbs of rock....

I have seen a tank were they cut triangles out of "egg crate" and used epoxy to glue rock rubble on it and leaned it in the corners of the tank.
Looked like a solid wall of rock but put a PH behind and the flow goes right through. Hide the PH and all. I will look for a thread on my local board and try to find a DIY pic.

I've seen a tank done like that too Richard. Very cool looking!

You can always build a PVC frame to support the rock.
