So I got my DIY moon light kit for winning 3rd in the photo contest.
Thanks again CF!!!

I was playing around with it tonight and at first mounted the LED's pointing down into the tank. Because of the very narrow viewing angle of these LED's it made a multi spot light effect. Did not like it, theres only 1 moon last time I looked.

So after a quick reconfiger I pointed the LED's up into the reflector of my lights. That looked a lot nicer, just a general blue glow down into the tank. So it looks like pointing up is good for me, what have others done?

When I finish the install I will post some pics.

I found a place online that sales LED kits and you get 10 bulbs and everything else needed for 21 dollars. The bulbs are 100+degree's meaning they are not like multi spot, its a wide angle thing.

Yeah, even the wide angle LED's would not give me what I think moon light should look like.

I really think it looks a lot better as an indirect light rather than a direct light.

Has anyone setup a moon phase timer or do you make your fish think theres a full moon all the time?

I plan to make it a moon simulator. According to thier site, I only need 2 lights for my 55.....but i'm getting 10. I plan on buying that simulator thingy with the kit.
