Are there any macroalgae species I should be weary of putting in my refugium? In my main tank I have a blue tang, a clownfish, an anemone (that my clownfish doesn't swim in anymore), a hammercoral (that the clownfish has newly chosen as his home), a couple mushrooms, some zoos, and a toadstool. I just set up an auaquafugeps system two days ago and am already producing skimate.

Chaetomorpha and gracilaria are good 'fuge algaes. Tangs love the gracilaria, and some of the like chaeto. I would stay away from the caulerpas, because they have a tendency to go sexual, turning white and making your water green. It is illegal in some states now, and I have heard that it will be federally banned soon too.

*Note to self, stock up on my caulerpa prolifera, and sell them for outrageous prices to LFS...*

Be careful when putting macros in your main tank if you have corals and anemones. Some macros tend to grow and take over the tank.
