one of my stars is at the VERY top of the water. The temperature is slightly higher than normal, 82 - 84 F...Could he be simply searching for food or is the temperature wrong and maybe the oxygen is low? Everything else in the tank SEEMS ok.

There's more...I woke up this morning to a flood. the tank overflowed AGAIN for reasons unknown this time :( so I moved the setup to my garage...it's not my first choice but it will have to do. I am planning of getting a chiller to maintain the temp.

It could because of a temp fluxuation or a salinity drop.

how long can the tank survive sustaining a temp of about 86F?
