My lfs has gotten in some baby blue tangs(15 or so) they set them out for display 8/22 . I've been keeping an eye on them and they seem healthy. I'm not sure if they are wild caught or aqua cultured because I keep forgetting to ask. I was not aware you could mate blue tangs in captivity but he does raise about every clown you can think of. Anyway I already have a ten year old blue tang along with a powder blue and a yellow. Would there be a problem intruducing one or two of these to my tank? They are about an inch now but would keep then in a 29 gallon for several months before adding them.

I'm pretty sure we don't see tank-bred tangs commercially.

If you have a very large tank (and seeing as how you have and want so many tangs, you probably do), you MAY get away with adding the new babies now. But, fish don't seem to care if a new fish is a baby or not, conspecifics are threats, and it may be war.

I guess I'm saying you could give it a try if your tank is very big, but it's really at your own risk (or the risk of the baby tangs).
