Its ok to sell, I have kept tanks for almost 20 years. I am moving to Shaker Heights Ohio, older house, electricity not reliable. I thought I would try my hand at micro reefs...

Definitly not leaving the hobby... :-D

Did you post your location? If so, I'm just missing it. That would help you sell the setup though.

Very nice tank. Sorry to hear that your having to sell it. What is that plant life in the front of the tank on the bottom? Would part with any of it? I personally have not seen that before.

Caulerpa Taxifolia I believe :-D

Psst:

Caulerpa taxifolia is on the federal noxious weeds list. It is technically illegal to transport or illegally dump. This is enforced by all of it being seized by the USDA. I didn't believe it either, until I did the research. The last couple of pages of the following thread will explain it better. . .

Take a look at this page: http://www.saltcorner.com/sections/guest/algaepage/algaepage.htm . Yours could very well be sertulerioides instead of taxifolia.

Sorry, but I know that Big Brother does web searches, looking for who may have taxifolia, so I wanted to inform you!

It is Caulerpa sertularioides not Taxifolia, it is much shorter and finer leaf structure than Taxifolia.

Can be difficult to tell the difference here is some good information I found: Description of Taxifolia

Branches, feather-like, flattened, and upright, 3 - 10 cm high, rising from a creeping stolon (runner), 1 - 2 mm in diameter, anchored by rhizoids to the substrate. Branchlets oppositely attached to midrib, flattened, slightly curved upwards, tapered at both base and tip, and constricted at point of attachment. Midrib is slightly flattened, appearing oval in cross-section. Dark green to light green.

This species resembles another Hawaiian Caulerpa species, C. sertularioides. C. sertularioides is more delicate and the branchlets are rounded, compared to the flattened branchlets of C. taxifolia. The rising branches are also more rounded toward apices, compared to the more angular, squared-off branches of C. taxifolia.

Structural Features

Thallus non-septate, coenocytic, traversed by trabeculae, which are extensions of cell wall; reproduction vegetative and sexual, latter anisogamous. Gametes liberated through papillae that develop on frond or occasionally on frond.
