CPR Refugium with protein skimmer

Is anybody using a CPR hang-on-back refugium? if so what do you think about them? Also what do you think about the model that has the integrated protein skimmer or what do you think about CPR skimmers in general? I have a 27 gallon reeftank that I am looking into starting a refugium for and also need a protein skimmer. I figured I could kill two birds with one stone and save room while I was at it. I attached a pic of the refugium with the integrated protein skimmer.

I think that cpr makes good equipment...and that unit ought to do a great job for your...I have used the cpr bak-pak on my 60 and it did a great job.....

I currently use the model with no skimmer and love it. Holds a good amount of cheto and is very quiet!

You can fill it with sand on top of this mud.

You can grow macro algaes in the refugium which will be a nutrient export and will suck the life out of that problem of yours. Here is a view of it.

I would add a nice piece of Live Rock in it as well for a breeding ground.

You can make one with almost any hang on back filter. Check this thread by Sugar Magnolia.
