salinity!

hey guys, i just bought this hydrometer made by instant ocean, i also bought 20gallons of fresh saltwater to do a water change, i didnt do the water change, but i just tested my salinity.

its pointing all the way up on this instant ocean thing, i think im using it right, ij ust filled it with water and the little thing pointed up.

what should i do, i thought if i just did a water change it would go down but it doesnt look like it, ive used 15 gallons of the new salt water.

my salanity is at 1.028...


will everything be ok tomrrow?

shoudl i just wait till tomorrow and take out salt and replace it with fresh till it reads 1.024-1.026

Lower your SG by .001 per day. Do this by removing saltwater and replacing it with freshwater.

remember to do this slowly I would take 1/2 gallon of water out per day

might be a silly question, but there were no tiny air bubbles attached to the pointer? you have to flick the hydrometer with your finger to make sure none are attached to the pointer....

also, place on flat surface, i get the best readings this way.. g/l
