I was wondering, are these fish reef safe and do you think they are hard to keep? I was thinking to be with two clowns, and a purple firefish and a cleaner shrimp. Is it better to just forget him all together oh what? Tank is 30L with shrooms/zoos/xenia, ten gal. fuge, ten gal. sump, protein skimmer. Do they eat alot of pods?

The mimic Saddle Puffer is a great easy to care for fish...but unfortunately they are not reef safe...The will decimate your inverts....Sorry!!!

even the good size snails like turbo snails? Do they eat corals, literally?

Not usually interested in corals...some have said they will nip at them but they will nip at clam mantels, they will take out your ornamental shrimp, snails, hermits, etc...They are not worth the risk....

:( darn. I wonder, what if I added an extra 10 gallon tank to the whole setup that has just a little live rock and sand and keep him in there? that would be a total of 60 gallons

A minimum tank size for these fish is 30 gal...that means if he is kept in a 10 gal...even though you have 60 total gal...he will be stressed most of the time...and very unhappy!!!!
