It looks like some kind of non-segmented worm...but really need to see the head of the thing to give you a better ID....
See if it looks like any of these....

Hard to tell. On another note though, I have seen flatworms here and there.
In general, are worms benificial? Are there ANY worms that are detrimental to the system?
I'm not really worried about this one but I thought it was SO pretty :D

Most are good...there are a few that you don't want...certain flat worms are coral eaters...and there are a few others that you don't want...but all in all most are good unless they get extremely huge!!!

IME, side doesn't matter, as with age, their feeding habits don't change.

As for your pretty worm there, it could be a number of things, but would need better (close-up) pics to know for sure.

True...but those that do damage when they are small can really put a hurt on you when they are large!!! ;) And they just get Scary Ugly!!!

This is an older article, but it might be of help: Tie A Yellow Ribbon (Worm) Around the Old Reef Rock... (http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-01/rs/index.php)

Also, here's an identification link that might help out, as well: Key To Main Polychaete Families (http://www.nhm.ac.uk/research-curation/projects/taxinfo//key/family_key.htm). You can click on the question to see examples of what they are asking, too.
