I'm concerned about my water's quality. If you'll notice the last piture, you can see that underneath the 'mouth', the encrusting stuff has fallen off. I should be receiving my calcium and alk test kits from marine depot tomorrow. I can't wait cause that will give me peace of mind about a lot of the parameters I will be able to test for.

We keep several species of animals in our tanks that are fine when living but potentially noxious in death. Sponges, sea slugs, cucumbers, and anemones can all foul a tank with toxin release when they die. Even mandarin dragonets are rumored to do this too. It's a matter of paying attention to your animals, and removing them promptly when sick.

I personally keep a cuc...and anemone....and would agree with Conni...on being observant....

Let me ask this: At what orientation should the little guy be? Longer dimension up/down or side/side? there APPEARS to be a 'foot' of some sort (not pictured). I just wanna make him happy.

It's best to just leave it where it is. Trying to remove it from the rock will damage it, and possibly kill it.

no no no...it's not attached in any way. Actually, last night, it got blown off of where it is in the pics. :(

I just noticed that it looks like I may have it laying down and he would probably enjoy life more if he was standing up LOL

I think that it adds nice color to your reef, I plan to buy some tunicates for my reef whenever I get the chance to and my petstore supplies them. I don't think that I got them with my live rock, just a lot of sponges, and starfish. But I really want blue lollipop Tunicates, they seem so interesting!

Solarflare,

You can go ahead and link to the site that had posted the picture of the tunicate, but it is illegal to copy and post like that, especially without giving credit to the original site. Sorry.
