I have a 15 gallon Nano tank (12 inches tall, 12 inches deep 24 inches long), with a 10 gallon fuge and a skimmer. This tank has a lot of live rock stacked with plenty of places to hide, and currentally houses 1 firefish and soft coral. I would like to know if a Pygmy Cherub Dwarf Angel would be ok to put in this tank as the second and last fish.
I really like this fish and keep stairing at him in the LFS but can't put him in the 50 because of the LPS he might pick at. The nano is all softies and with the extra water in the fuge I thought I might be able to get away with it, but what do you think?
Thanks,
Whiskey

I would have to say no, Whiskey. The dwarf angels need at least 30 gallons to do well. They are active fish, and need to be fed several times a day. A good portion of what you feed needs to be algae. Herbivores are messier fish, producing more waste and nitrates. I think you'll run into troubles in a tank that size with so much waste, besides the lack of swimming room.

Also, cherubs are on the agressive side. I bet it would get really territorial in a tank so small, and a firefish can't hold its own against a fish like that.

Hmm, well that is ruff, oh well,...
I find it really hard to find good fish in this hobby, when I read up on a fish that catches my eye, I end up finding that they eat shrimp, LPS or all types of coral. Or they are really agressave and would eat other fish and snailes.
What fish do you find to be great additions to your tanks? Keeping in mind it would be going in either a 15G nano-reef with a fire fish, or a 50 gallon with a clown and yellow tang.

I'd have to say take a look at the reef safe wrasses for your bigger tank. Some are amazingly beautiful.
Have you ever thought of pairing a shrimp goby with a pistol shrimp in the 15?

15 gallon is bare bottom, with perty much rules out all the golby's and most of my options:(.
The 50G has about 1/2 to 1/4 inch of larger graned sand just for the look.
