Hi, my Scopas Tang is presenting some tiny spots, I see some white but I also see some dark (the dark look more like lines). He's active, eating well, playful around the tank and really doesn't seem to be under any stress. Could this be ick or are these scratches (he's getting kind of fatty) These are some photos the first two are full body without arrows so you can visualize him, the rest are as close as I could get. Please, tell me if I need to take him out or am I just worrying over nothing. Water parameters are great: everything at 0, calcium is 480, salinity 1.023 (I've always had it like that) and temp's between 79F-81F. Thanks for your help.

I can't tell if there is anything wrong with the fish by the photo's if there is anything wrong...could be ich...the black spots could be black ich... I will add a link you can read about this...This could be nothing....A few more questions; is the fish scratching itself on the rocks or substrate??? If not then the spots are not bothering him...ich bothers fish....Do you have any cleaner shrimp in the tank...and is the tang over by the cleaners a lot??? Add garlic to his food just in case and see if that helps....

I haven't seen him scratching...if he scratches it would be a constant thing right? Because I have watched him and he just swims around fast and eats a lot. I do have a cleaner shrimp but the tang doesn't hang around him at all. I soak their food with garlic guard almost every day. I did add some more rocks last weekend and now he's always trying to pass through nooks where he no longer fits to well...would that cause some scratches? Thanks for all your help. :|

That could be...just keep the water quality high and observe him...It doesn't appear to be ich...and it could be scratches...

Here is what marine ich looks like!!! Granted this is advanced ich and this fish is probably not going to make it but here is a picture…
