I heard about an artemia cultivation unit that you can just stick on or in your aquarium that will contiually release brine shrimp into your aquarium could I use one of those to have a constant food source in my aquarium and then feed additional Items to corals and fish like, marine snow or phytoplex or whatever? I think that I might try it. What do yall think!

Don't know enough about them but I don't see it as a great thing either...if you do get this you will have to let us know if it is worth it!!!

It is basicly just a a container that will keep your bs from getting eaten before they are grown. then they just swim into your tank naturally and then your fish or coral can eat them. You can put it in or outside of your tank and it cames with a water pump that will cirrculate it. This is what the manufactureer said.

i get the idea but you really dont want BBS waste water in your tank
if you can hook it up out side then hat would be better.
BTW you will want to feed your fish thew Artemia when there still babys(BBS)
in the first day or two after they hacth. sinse that when they re the most nutritional. after that they lose all value. if you buy frozen artemia, you ll notice that it says vitamin inriched or something like that :)

yeah that is very true unless you raise your brine shrimp on nutrtional foods. I use selcon witch raises the nutrtional value of bs 300-400% maximizing the food quality. As for the waste well my tank is huge and I have added so much filtration to it in these past few weeks, so this little waste that they produce is reduced so much that it doesn't make a change in anything, I have checked my water quality often after putting this thing to my system, everything seems to be fine. thanks for the comments. To look at a detailed version of my filtration look at the forum in the beginner forum; 225 gallon reef, I need help

my tank in 2 months has lost 1/4 of an inch of water as its about 99% sealed

yeah my tank for some reason doesn't lose very much water to evaporation. I think that the reason is becuse its sealed of and the area which its in is small and there is a air conditioning vent in there keeping it constantly cool. but Im not sure if thats it.

I use a 10 gallon tank to raise my brine shrimp, I have it located above my tank so they can just siphon down into my tank, then a pump replenishes the water back from the main to the ten gallon
