View Full Version : Is this a good deal for Metal Halide?
I was at the LFS yesterday. They have a set of used MH fixtures for sale.
750 watt total: 1 - 250 ballast and 1 - 2x250 watt ballast.
Everything but the bulbs for $300.
Is this a good deal? The owner said that the lady selling them would probably go lower. What should I offer?
I have been wanting to get a bigger 120 gal tank. Would this be good for a 120?

Yes, What is the brand name of the ballast and bulbs?
How old is the ballast and bulbs? Also to be on the safe side I would buy new bulbs if you get this setup.

Are they magnetic or electronic ballasts? Do they include reflectors and all other hardware? i still beleive is too high for a used set, especially when you can find retros for as low as $85.00 ea. (magnetic) out there.

After some research, this is the same conclusion that I have come to. I just didn't want to pass up a great deal.
Thanks for everyones help.
