I got my rock in today!
when I went home for lunch, I found the box on my porch. I opened it up and found TONS of life on it!

There are a good handful of small crabs, some worms, at least one shrimp, TWO VERY LARGE starfish (serpents, I believe), sponges, several small clams, one VERY large clam, a small sea urchin (I believe he was dead though :()

I had no choice but to put the rock in the tub of water in my garage because I was in a hurry to get back to work. It has two good power heads and I put my heater in there too to be sure the temp didn't fall (although, the garage is always like 85 - 90).

I also found a crawfish! but it was WAY dead! lol

I also have some coral. I can't tell if it's dead or retracted yet though. Time will tell.

When I get home, I will be taking out my plain-white base rock and mixing in the LR. I hope I can come up with a good aqua-scape!

me too...I really had no choice though...I CAN say though that the heater came on and it's set for 75 so the water wasn't as hot as previousely thought ;)

A bit of advice. Remove any crabs you find. The majority of them tend to be not reef safe.

dang! I didn't see that suggestion until just now! I didn't take any crabs out. I'm sure it will be a while before i go full-reef anyway...maybe I can catch some by then :D
