hello again, need a little help making another decision. both angels are a risk. but which one is more of a risk in a reef tank. not taking into acount issuses with establishing them. just figure get good healthy ones that went in and lived, eating everything all good. which is more of a risk for which corals?

They are the same risk...they nip at LPS and some soft corals like...xenia...and like other angels clam mantels....

It's a gamble, they might/not go after corals especially when first introduced, since they're exploring their sorroundings. I've heard of regalsthat have wiped out entire zoo colonies right after being introduced and others being model citizens.

In Scott W. Michael's book Marine Fishes he warns that they will go after LPS and some soft coral's and clam mantels...They have the same exact description for both fish...There are only a few angels that are truly reef safe....

thaks but i have had lost of angels not go for any corals. never tried these guys before though. i know there are all individuals. since really looking into i would Scott W. Michael's is generalizing a bit too much if he has the same descriptions. i think the majestic is meaner and goes for just about any LPS in the tank. the regals seem to be far and few between those that go for anything. except for xenia. i found this thread very informative about the regal. will have a tang inthe tank with him. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=389107

na dont think any are for sure reef safe. both are a risk i know. but do want to try one of them and find the regal to be the best bet. if he likes xenia no worries dont really like them anyway. we will see thanks for the input everyone.
