Pink Spots

I have recently started getting these dark pink spots on the coral in my tank. I do not know what they are or how they got there. I also have been getting a lot of Green Hair alage on my LR. Is there any way to get rid of it? I'm sorry my picture is blurry, but that is the best shot I could get for the time being.

Wow... is it on coral or rock...I really can't tell by this picture... I mean pink could be a lot of things from coralline algea to some kind of sponge...

Try to take a picture that isn't so close up....

OK I'm gonna take a wild guess and call it cyano. Sytep back a little from the subject with your camera and focus a little better. That will help.

Looks like cyano to me, but I'm just stabbing at the blur too. Another pic would help.

If it is cyano, do a search on the forum on how to deal with it. It's a long process, but we've all been there!

its cyano you need to get rid of it b4 it gets out of control check garf.org they got some good info on algae control
