Found a snail tonight! Is there anyway to identify it by the size/shape of the shell?

Geez...I turned off all the lights in the room and waited about 15 minutes then took a small light and found two more creatures!

I didn't expect this to happen so soon with such a minimal amount of seed! I am VERY excited about what I might get with the Keys-Rock from LiveRocks.Com!!

Ron, I agree. My wife keeps telling me she is going to look for some sort of a 12-step program for me!

Its hard to ID based on the photo, as the opening of the shell, and in some instances the operculum have to be looked at to identify a snail. The first snail I thought of when looking at your pic is the pyramidellae snail that often attacks clams. I've seen them attached to Astrea snails before (the foot), and found a few on a limpet in the same tank.

Here is a pic from my bud Barry @ Clams Direct:

Also, here is a link to a page showing: Pyramidellidae Shells (http://www.alboranshells.com/pyramidellidae/pyramidellidae.htm). Take a peek and see if these resemble it at all.

According to the Webter's Dictionary:

SW aquarist= "An individual obsessed with placing huge amounts of electricity near enclosed sw enviroments"

I'll have to agree with Nikki on this one. Next time you see the snail, pull it out and place it in a separate container and take a few shots of the shell, the foot and the operculum.
