Wow!!! I'm envious. I like that you extended your hood to hide your lights. That looks great.

Here is my electrical and auto top-off controlled by a Tunze Osmolator. The electrical panels with the switches are an American DJ product and you can buy them at any Guitar Store for $29. I bought the case, too, because it serves as added water protection. I have a dedicated sub panel to the tank, with AFCI (arc fault). My pumps are plugged in their own outlets and labelled (everything is labelled), to divide up the load.

Here is my new custom sump made by IAP (the guys who custom built my tank, too). The concept in my tank is to keep detritus in suspension to either be utilized or picked up in the sump, but I was having a lot of settling under the skimmer in my old sump. The new sump I had made, has a settling compartment all the way on the right, where the detritus settles, and I can easily siphon during a water change. Works very well.

Doctor Reef - how do you like the Kalk dosing with the Tunze. I haven't seen one in action, and wondered how well it worked. Thanks!

Hey Doc...This picture of your Tunze that's strapped instead of suction-cupped...What material can I use that is reef-safe to convert all of my powerheads to mount like that? I've been looking for a way to keep my PH's in place and suction cups DON'T work!

2639 - you can take an inexpensive algae magnet and glue the suction cups to it. The powerhead will then be mounted to the algae magnet, and you can move it where you want to in the tank.

Hope that helps!

The Tunzes are really nice, they also have magnets that can be purchased instead of using the mounts shown in the pics.

I've seen that done but what baffles me is this...wouldn't the magnet interfere somehow with the PH's electro-magnetic drive? One other thing is cost...How much cheaper is the least expensive (but yet strong) magnet compared to a car-radio mounting strap? (that may not be usable though cause it's usually tin/aluminum)

I love the way this works Nikki...I have got to were I add a 1/4 cup of kalk to it twice a week and shake it up and let it set for 15 min...plug it in and it does the rest....

Andy those straps came with the tunze PH's, I now use the magnets that you can buy for the tunze PH's as Nikki said...The magnets will not interfere with you power heads...
