i have been lookin for info on these guys. there is one at the lfs. cute. in a hole most of the time right now, but comes out and is really cute. are these guys reef safe? will it munch my corals or shrimp? is it compatable with a long fin fairy wrasse? know anyplace i can read up?

Blue headed wrasses eat copepods, crabs, crab larvae, flatworms, zooplankton, gastropods and gastropod larvae. That sounds non-reef safe to me!

Also, it is very territorial and aggresive. I think adding it to a tank that already houses one wrasse species would cause problems.

They have been known to eat small ornamental shrimp...they will take out small mantis shrimp also...if you don't like bristle worms they will go after them also...so even though they leave coral alone they will go after your other beneficial life in the aquarium...if you have a bunch of mantis shrimp well there ya go!!!

ok i get the point. i have a fairly aggressive and big tom clown, thinking they would be good company for each other ha ha. but that would mean moving my fairy wrasse, and i think he will stay put. thanks for update, i guess he will just have to stay at the pet shop!!
