Ok, I just got my chiller in. I have the JBJ Artica Chiller 1/10 and I forgot to order a pump for it!!!!
My husband wants to find a way to hook into the existing pump that sits in the sump and runs the filtration, but I disagree and felt we needed a new pump.
Any suggestions on hooking into the existing pump or if a new on is needed. And if so, what kind?

What kind of pump is your existing insump pump now?
Really hard to say without knowing what kind of pump it is and what the spec's on the pump are....

I have a submersible Sedra 2500 in my sump.

I would get a second sedra or like pump and run my chiler on it...I think you would have two much head loss by going out of the curent pump through a chiller several feet away and back to the tank...

No problem....I am using two md4 little giants to run my return and chiller...and that would be over kill for your 90 but two pumps are very nice to have as one could break down and the other is still moving water from your sump to the tank...a little safer and it makes it easer to sleep at night!!! Here is a picture of the set up...

I would contact the company unless the instructions say what flow to use, to fast of a flow will not allow the chiller to work, to slow also no good, when I got my chiller it did not say anything about flow, then I called the company up, the hocked me up to the tech dept. where they told me 5oo/700 gph so i'm using a 650 ,I have a 1/4 hp chiller
How loud is a typical chiller? Sorta like a refrigerator? The ones I've seen online are EXPENSIVE with a capitol $. What are the better inexpensive ones?

There all the same, yea about like a refridge, maybe just a little louder, put it this way during the day if i'm watching tv ou really don't here it much but at night if your trying to keep the noise down like if people are sleeping its hard becasue you can't here the tv unless you turn it up a little, mine is in the living room
