Today is a sad day. My 2 1/2 year old neon goby is nowhere to be seen in the cube. I only feed every other day (normally), with flake, pellets or frozen and twice a week with cyclop-eeze, and whenever I approach the tank, my bicolor blenny and my neon goby are swimming around frantically hoping some food drops in the tank. Today was feeding day and no sign of the goby. I fed the fish some pellets and it still didn't appear. The gramma and watchman who are my shy ones are always the last to appear, and they did. No goby.

I see no corpse in the tank, no fish in the sump, no fish on the floor. the last place he could be is trapped in the sponge in the Lifereef overflow - dead no doubt. :( I liked that guy. :( I'm pulling sponges in the Fluval and overflow/sump tomorrow to see if I can find his remains.

This comes right on the heels of losing that cool little misbarred clown I recently bought, to brook a couple of weeks ago. I didn't pull it in time. All the other fish show absolutely no signs of disease, thankfully, and by now would have if they were going to come down with it.

I'm a bit bummed about this. Down to 3 fish now. :(

well if it is gone sugar, look at it this way I've seen like most of use have seen your tank , and you should be proud, because that little neon goby lived the best of it years in your little paradise tank.

Aw, thanks Jim, that was such a nice thing to say. It's just a shame to lose a fish I've had for so long. My yellow watchman goby is now over 3 years old, my bicolor blenny approaching 3 years. It's tough to see the old timers go. :(

yeah I know where your coming from, I know if my blacks came up sick or was dieing, I would probably run to my vets grab him by his shirt collar and "Beg Please, please, save them". knowing he couldn't do any thing for them. I would still try something.
