Well, they did it again! This time some survived the laying and eating behavior. There seems to be about 20 or 30 eggs that the male is fanning and protecting. Now we'll have to wait and see if they last the week to ten days for hatching (that is about the time it takes, right?).

No, not yet. I wasn't expecting them to lay eggs yet. I may have to move at the end of August so I was holding off on setting up anything new. Also, the eggs are layed on a large piece of LR that has Xenia growing all over it so moving them out would be almost impossible at this point. I figured that I would let nature take it's course on this set. :(

Who knows, maybe a few will survive. My tank is 3/4s covered in Xenia and I also have a large patch of red grasilaria (sp?). I guess I should go get some DTs or something for them to eat once they hatch. But, again, I'm not sure that the eggs will last that long at this point.

Yeah, I know. That's partially why I have so many of them. ;)

Well... They did it again. They ate all the eggs!!!

At least they lasted long enough for me to see a bunch of them this time. :doubt:

Maybe next time.

well they probably will lay for a while now. but once you move they'll quit for some time after the move, just like my pair, if I want to get them to quit laying I just pull there tile I have them lay on and they'll quit laying for month's some times. mostly if they just layed on the tile, are they laying in the same place Nick? if so if theres room try laying a piece of floor tile back facing out, just under the patch of xenia they like laying under, and see if you can get them to lay on the tile, I keep an extra tile in each of my tank incase they lay on one. because if they do lay on the tile just make sure you have a back up tile to put in the place of the one you took out or it will screw with there laying pattern up. I know I did that once pulled the tile out they just layed on and the male ran crazy all day looking for the eggs and they quit laying all together for about 3 month's.
well good luck, I just gave up for the time being trying to rear any stock because I just don't have the time in the summer month, because of work.

PS and if you want to try and rear your stock you'll need to raise some baby brine shrimp and get some rotifers.
