Here is an interesting article that is disturbing... There really needs to be some controls set up on this industry to make them understand that this method of fishing is potentially lethal to this environment!!! Very sad!!! :(

I think that their government should get a tractor to run over the homes of the people who were doing that :) haha see how they like it ;)

That is very sad, but not surprising in the least. I followed the related link to Greenpeace and they have a bit more coverage/pictures over there.

This video is just disturbing. http://www.greenpeace.org.nz/multimedia/video/13-June-05-waiori.wmv

Yes, isn’t that shocking!!! Just unbelievable…

Yes there needs to be better harvesting techniques no doubt about it! But more laws without teeth aint the answer either cause asian countries wont abide by them and this puts the rest of the fishermen at a disadvantage and a loss too. Its still no excuse though for the havoc they wreck!

Yes, Got to agree with you...I think that the other problem is that we "the USA" hasn't always been the best example of doing it right either....but it is nice to see improvements there also...there are a lot of things that need to be in place and worked out but if there is no effort being made then our precious ocean life will always be in peril of these kinds of unthinkable atrocities!!! :(

I think the reefs a salt qays should be considered a jewel in the crown of natural wonders. This is truely disturbing and I think something should be done about it.And the size of that gorgonian-took that long to grow and for some ass to tear it down. :censored:
