I have a problem with my medium sized frog spawn it has pulled all the way back in to its base for the last 3 days.I am scratching my head(opps left that out) to what has caused this. All my levels not changed. My nitrates are alittle high 25 or so but that is norm for my tank.I am hoping it has not died on me.any ideas or what i can attempt to get it to open up.The only thing new in my tank is a protein skimmer, but I know that is not the problem.

I'm at a loss also, Jasen. My only guess is that your high nitrates (even though lower than they used to be) have had a cumulative effect. It has just taken a while to stress the coral to this point.
Just venturing a guess. I wish you luck. . .

My zooa, duster, shrooms, and my favorite(sun coral) all look great. The frog spawn has been with me for 4 mounths and has florished and grown nicely.Whats stinks is I am starting get the nitrate under control this goes and hapens.

I am with Conni...not sure what is up but certainly could be the trates... LPS do not do well with trates.... the softies can handle them better but the lps and sps corals do not... Hope that it will re extend!!!!

I would just like to add this to my frogspawn would do that to some times, never for that long but a day or 2 and after it came out a few weeks later I would notice little sprouts at the base of my frogspawn. but like doc and conni has noted they don't fair well with fluctuating trates.

Thanks every one,
I trew it out yesterday(bad joke)It came out a tiny bit past its base so I will keep waiting to see what happens. In the mean time I added some seachem reef elements.Hopfully it doesnot throw my calcium out of wack.I let you all know it comes back to its full glory.
