Some type of coral?

I have no idea what this is. It's about the size of a quarter and some of it releases every now and then for some reason. It is a pink-ish color and seems to be getting smaller. If this is something that is dying, I need to get it out of my tank asap. Any ideas? Thanks for the help!

i think it may be a sponge of some type do you have any phyto plankton to try to feed it if it is a sponge its probably starving to death

It could be that or a type of mushroom that is shriviling up. I wouldnt worry to much tho. Thing come and things go in tanks.
