Something really wierd happen last night, I was looking at my tank after the lights went out, and suddenly something in my tank started to glow. It was a white/blue light, thorbing glow, a weak light that pulsed on and off every 5 seconds. I switched on the light, and couldn't see anything?! Any ideas anyone.
In my tank is 2 Clowns (not them!)
2 peppermint shrimp
5 cleaner shrimp
1 boxing shrimp
some bristlestars
and snails
But whatever it was it lasted only about a minute then stopped! was cool though! :-D

Interesting. There's lots of marine creatures that posses that glowing ability. Could be any number of things, from a worm to a jelly. Pretty cool!

Yeah thats the first time I ever saw it, my tanks been up and running properly for about a month now with my live rock so perhaps something survived off that as I have a lot of hitchhikers, from button polyps to seaweed! :-D
I will let you all know if I find out what it is.
Maybe I could get a pic? :thinkhard:

A picture of your live rock would be great, might shed some light on where it came from

There are a plethera of marine organisms that are "bio-luminescent", i would assume that you probably got some kind of shrimp, or plankton from live rock that made it into your tank, tube warm larve are one of the marine plankton that also glow, as well as some very small shrimps. how bright was it?
