Hi ~ I'm new and not sure if this post will go through...

I am about to order approximately 132 lbs. of uncured figi live rock from a company in Ohio, Aquatic Technology, for my new tank. The website is aquatictech.com. Has anyone had any experience with their products? I've done a lot of research on live rock prices, and even with shipping, their's are very good (a fact which worries me a bit!)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Melissa

I have never dealt with that company, but would be warry of uncured fiji rock. Is this a new tank?

well hope for the best prepare for the worst.... it will grow back in time if its sat for a while i would give it a rinse in a tub of fresh water to get rid of un wanted critters i put window screen in my bucket and smoosh it in and ill dip my piece and after i pull it out i pull up screen and put it in saltwater bucket so i can cherry pick my critters

I checked out the website. The prices for the rock are pretty low. It says the rock is shipped out of LA, so I'm guessing that it comes directly from the transhipper to you, rather than to Aquatech then on to you. Cutting out the middle man. :D

Considering our budget, we went ahead and ordered the rock, and we got it in this morning. We are super satisfied; the pieces are big, and the coloration is great. We will post pics this afternoon once we get it in the tank to start the curing process. We definitely recommend the company. With shipping, the rock cost only $2.97 / lb, and the quality is great!

I posted some pictures of the rock in my personal gallery. I tried doing it in this forum, but I had trouble with it.

The rock looks good! How was it packaged?

In a cardboard box sealed in plastic on the inside, with some water (not much, though). We got it out of there as quickly as possible.

The curing process is going well - The water is still a bit cloudy, but I will take some pics when it clears up a bit more. We already sit and look at the tank - there are a few snails crawling around that must have came on the rock. A lot of worms and such dying and falling off. The next 6 - 8 weeks will go by soooo slow, but we don't want to rush the process.
